Champions Crowned at Texas Hold Em Event
Playing well into the night, Lou Evers went all-in on the first hand in the finals against Johnny Wruck and ended up pulling out the victory in the first-ever Westhampton Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee's Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament held at the Hotel Indigo in Riverhead on Thursday, January 26th. Emmett Boone finished third.
Evers walked away with a 42-inch LED LG TV for his efforts while Wruck took home a Weber gas grill and Boone won a weekend at the hotel.
Forty players started the Long Island Poker Casino-run event. The tournament helped the Parade Committee raise money for this year's March 10th Parade. The Parade Committee has tenatively planned for another tournament this fall.
